Salicylic Acid
What is Salicylic acid?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid derived both from synthetic and plant sources. It works by exfoliating skin, dissolving the sebum/oil to unclog pores and controlling oil build up that causes unsightly blemishes. Hylunia combines salicylic acid with another beta hydroxy acid, carnitine to minimize irritation of acne and blemishes.
Salicylic acid benefits for skin
Salicylic acid leaves skin toned and smooth by exfoliating the dead skin cells, removing sebum and oil to maintain clear pores preventing breakouts. Salicylic acid is a key ingredient to help blemish prone skin to maintain balance. Salicylic acid combined with carnitine is a gentle way to properly maintain a clear complexion for people who struggle with oily or acne prone skin.
Important note: Hylunia does not use salicylic acid as a preservative. When used as a preservative in leave on products this ingredient can trigger tinnitus (ringing in the ear) symptoms.
